A situational assessment is a process of gathering information about an individual's strengths, interests, abilities, and support needs in order to identify appropriate vocational, educational, or independent living goals. The assessment is usually conducted through interviews, observation, and standardized testing, and aims to provide a comprehensive picture of the individual's current abilities and limitations.
Situational assessments are commonly used in vocational rehabilitation and educational settings to support individuals with disabilities or other challenges in achieving their goals. The assessment results can inform the development of an individualized plan that outlines the steps needed to reach the individual's goals, including any necessary accommodations or support services
